Comfort food is farm raised family food
So many things are tied to food. Our health, our culture, how we go about our days, how we socialize. All of this usually revolves around cooking and eating. We all have a food that just the thought of it brings up happy thoughts and warm feelings.
There is something about a farm that gives one grounding, a sense of freedom and purpose, self-reliance, and strength. Whether it's the fresh air, the ability to grow things, the outdoor lifestyle, or the challenges, it creates an intangible sense of fullfillment in a person.
We wanted to bring that to you. Not everyone can be on a farm but by buying your produce directly from a farmer, you are instantly part of that farm. You can say I am part of that farm's success, of a food revolution, of a movement to reclaim your independence from corporate controls and large systematized food-stuffs.

Meat in the Freezer
We’ve all been there; bad day, no sleep, fussing kids, work runs late. The kind of day where supper needs to be easy. Pull something from the freezer, throw it in the over or slow cooker and walk away. You can do that when you have a stocked up freezer.
Mom’s meatballs? Bacon and eggs? Easy peasy pork chops? We got you.

The Little Things that Matter
We raise our animals in a way that is beneficial for all. The cattle fertilize the land, the people are healthier for being outside and taking care of them, the butchering is done by a small family business in our local area. You can know that every dollar you spend is going directly to another family.

Value and Cost
We are all wanting the best bang for our bucks. By raising nutrient dense foods you are feeding your family and yourself more of what your bodies need in the same volume of food. You can buy cheaply raised meats but you will have to eat so much more of it to feel full and satiated. With meats raised the way we do, there are more nutrients in the same cut of meat vs large scale commercial operations.
You asked us...
What else do you have?
We raise all of our beef, pork, chicken, and eggs. As it is butchered locally we can arrange for specialty cuts if that is something you are interested in. We've recently added all of our available individual cuts to the site under their respective pages.

How to cook it?
Meat is really not as complicated as your favourite cooking show makes it seem. When one is working with lesser quality meat then the cook becomes more particular to get those ideal responses but with meat quality like this, you can be much more forgiving of yourself and still have a stellar product when you finish. A little bit of marbling means that the meat doesn't dry out and get tough during the cooking process.
Our family favourite recipes will be added here but your family cookbook, Pinterest, and a quick internet search for recipes with give you many many ideas. We keep it simple ourselves, easy seasoning, simple process, and consistently stellar results that is kid approved (cause they are the toughest critics)!
My freezer is full at the moment...
We hear this all the time, and sometimes we find ourselves saying it too.
When freezer space is at a premium and it's full of yummy things, then a meat box is your perfect solution. You get the benefits of having bought bulk meat (variety and price point) without having to store a couple hundred pounds all at once. You will be able to use up each month's order and never have to wonder what the mystery package is in the back bottom corner is.
If you're not sure, we always have to ask ourselves two things; are the things in that freezer good for us? And secondly, how long have they been in there??
So many times we are spending valuable freezer space on things that are not good for us, or on things we may never eat anyway. We always try to remind ourselves that if its something we won't use, we might as well put something in the freezer that we will.
Stocking your freezer with delicious farm raised meat will never let you down or become mystery packages in the back corners.
