The livestock at Evergreen Alley eat pastures grasses, forages, and grains. We know where your meat came from and because meat takes on the flavour of its environment we keep it outside and fresh.

What our Customers Think
Let customers speak for us

We can't say it enough; Nutrition Just tastes Better.
Farmer's Market quality and variety, straight from our farm to you.

Summer Weekend Meat Box
We want your summer to be spent doing the things you love, with the people you love. When that activity involves food, we want it to be memorable. We want you to have something easy and delicious that you don't have to worry about so you can focus on the things you love.
The Weekend Box has been designed with summer in mind. As a family we selected the cuts for this meat box that we like the most; either for flavour or for convenience.
All of the cuts in this box are raised here on the farm, butchered locally, and delivered straight to your door. More of your money is going straight into your freezer as nutritionally dense and healthy meats.

Rib Eye Steak for the Grill
The rib eye steak is a classic choice for BBQ enthusiasts because of its rich flavour and mouthwatering marbling. Cut from the rib section of the cow, it's a generously sized cut that offers plenty of juicy, well-marbled meat. If you're looking for a steak that's full of flavour and easy to grill, the rib eye is the perfect choice.
Just season it with your favourite rub or marinade, then grill it to perfection over hot coals until it's crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly charred to your liking.

Smokies Roasted Over a Fire
Smokies are the perfect middle ground between the hot dog (that we know is reliable but not actually good) and sausages (which just can't stand up to a fire pit). Just the right size, right smoked flavour, and right mix of beef and pork.
These can easily be roasted over an open flame or on a grill. The smoky flavour of the sausage is enhanced by the heat from the fire, resulting in a delicious and satisfying dish that is perfect for an outdoor barbecue or camping trip.

Rainy Day Butt Steaks
Pork Butt steak is a flavourful and juicy cut of meat. It is a versatile cut but we find it is perfect when cooked slowly. It is beautifully marbled which renders out with a slow cook, resulting in an incredibly fall apart tender meat loaded with flavour. This is not a common cut of meat but definitely a household favourite here, a reliable go to for busy school nights or rainy days.
Throw it in the slow cooker from frozen if need be, add some cream based soup, seasoning, turn on high for a couple hours then onto low until you get home. Easy Peasy.

Bacon for any Occasion
Bacon is a flavourful meat which everyone is familiar with. It is a popular breakfast food and is used in many dishes as a flavor enhancer. Bacon is known for its salty, savory, and smoky taste, making it a favorite of many people. The texture of bacon can range from crispy to chewy, depending on how it is cooked.
There are many different ways to cook bacon, but some popular methods include baking, frying, and grilling. To bake bacon, preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and place the bacon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cook for 15-20 minutes or until crispy.

Meat Raised as Nature Intended
Feeding your family from a farm family
Brian's dream of Evergreen Alley came through the much laughed about "gateway animal" of chickens. He was looking for a way build his kid's education funds when a neighbour wanted to re-home their laying flock. Meat birds were next, then pigs. A couple steers for the family's freezers were added in and as it goes, if you're feeding 3 why not 10...
A small group of cows were added in 2020 and during that drought year we kept coming across information about regenerating land using livestock, this became a huge interest for Alicia. We had the animals and were able to acquire some grasslands in 2021. The responses to the meats we had produced and sold were so impressive that we wanted to make it available to more people.
So here we are, creating and delivering meats in family friendly packages so everyone can have farm quality meat on their tables.
You have a right to quality and nutritious food for you and your family. We make it easy by bringing it to your door.
Order before Monday night to get it shipped on Wednesday.
here's why you'd never buy Meat from the store again; we provide Nutrients, not just empty calories.
Be confident that these animals ate the things they should...
Nutrients mean Flavour...
Food is fuel and we are what we eat. Proper nutrient cycling means that the nutrients an animal consumes goes into their tissues, with some returned to the soil to ensure good regrowth of pastures. The better this is managed, the more nutrient dense the forages are, the meat becomes, and the healthier you are. (Haynes & Williams, 1993)
Omega-3's are known to be helpful anti-inflammatory components...
Omega 3's are found within the intramuscular fat of forage fed beef animals. This is called marbling and is full of key fatty acids. (Troy, Tiwari, & Joo, 2016) The superficial fat that an animal gains with high energy feeds designed for quick gains often lead to a high level of Omega 6 and 9's, associated with creating inflammation in the animals.
Signs of healthy meat include a brightness to the fat...
Meat requires fat to maintain moisture and not burn...
Meat requires marbling and fat to ensure it remains moist and doesn't burn while cooking. This is a key feature of well raised meat while lean beef is often improperly finished and has fats added to create a passable ground beef. (Dr. Anibal Pordomingo, Stockman Grass Farmer)

Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS IN EACH BOX?
The Summer box contains cuts specifically designed with summer in mind. They can be whipped up into a quick meal for busy days, cooked over a campfire, tossed on the BBQ, whatever your creativity can come up with.
WHAT ARE YOUR ANIMALS FED?
The livestock at Evergreen Alley are fed a combination of feeds depending on the stage of growth. Chickens are fed special feed for chicks and electrolytes until they are 3 weeks old, then they move outdoors and feed a grain and supplement mix.
The cattle spend as much time on pasture as we can in the favourable seasons, then hay and cover crop bales in the winter. For the final 60 days they are fed a bit more grain with their forages, this helps give that marbling in the meat without the superficial fat.
The pigs spend their time outside, with their mom's for the first 3 weeks. Then they are fed a mixture of grains and supplement and kitchen scraps (their favourite!).
